BIOGRAPHY
Zrinka Premužić was born in 1984 in Zagreb. She graduated in anthropology and ethnology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb in 2007. From 2010 to 2016, she was employed as a research assistant at the Institute for Anthropological Research in Zagreb. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Anthropological perspective of burial practices in the beginning of the late Bronze Age in Northern Croatia” in 2016. She has collaborated on several domestic and international scientific projects and has also participated in the organization of various international scientific conferences and museum exhibitions.
She co-authored a scientific book and published more than twenty scientific and professional papers in domestic and international scientific journals and conference proceedings. She has presented her work at around thirty domestic and international scientific and professional conferences.
As of January 2024, she is employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She teaches the course Nutritional Anthropology at the undergraduate anthropology program.
She is a member of the Croatian Ethnological Society (HED). Her scientific interests focus on bioanthropological research of archaeological populations, paleopathology, anthropological perspective of infectious diseases, and nutritional anthropology.
